Fattoria Colmone Wine Dinner November 19

Wines of the Marche from the Appenine Mountain Range to the Adriatic Sea

Come meet Giovanni Meschini as he will be pouring a number of his wines and talks about the rich history of his family’s small winery in Marche.

Fattoria (farm) Colmone is located just outside the city of San Severino. This is a city where man has had a presence since the Palaeolithic period. The winery is run by Giovanni, Piero and Pierluigi Meschini. The wines are all sustainably farmed with minimal interference from vine to bottle.
The wines of Colmone all have a unique voice, whether it is “Bianco del Moro” – a white wine from the Sangiovese red grape, or “Il Ciarliero” – a dry, frizzante from the ancient varietal Vernaccia Nera, or “Repiero” – juicy, saucy and fresh, or “Ciacco” – boldly masculine.

They all holler their personality out for everyone to hear.

Tickets for this event are $100 (including tax and tip).
The evening begins at 6:30 with dinner commencing at 7:00.
I will post the menu on this website closer to the date.

Joie, Tavola & Callanish Society Wine Dinner

Another successful night we had with Joie Farm wines and our food.  We once again auctioned off a donated magnum of wine from Michael and raised $500 for Callanish Society.

Clos du Soleil and Long Table Distillery Wine Dinner

Two weeks ago we shared our space with the good people of Clos du Soleil Winery and Long Table Distillery for our second wine dinner of the year.  Fantastic wines – verticals from the Clos du Soleil cellar and a really good Marc that was produced in collaboration with Long Table Distillery, were had with many courses of food from the Tavola kitchen.

The good people of Clos du Soleil were very kind in bringing an extra magnum that we raffled off and were able to donate $630 to the Covenant House of BC.
